Employee Participation

The organization shall encourage and enable employee participation in security culture initiatives, including awareness activities, feedback mechanisms, and security champions programs. Employee participation shall include provision of opportunities for employee involvement, recognition of employee contributions, and fostering of a sense of ownership for security.

This requirement exists to enable and encourage workforce participation in security culture initiatives and security champions activities, ensuring personnel security awareness and behavior are managed consistently and measurably.

Implementation Guidance

Establish and document the process to enable and encourage workforce participation in security culture initiatives and security champions activities. Define accountable owners, target audiences, required inputs and outputs, delivery or assessment criteria, frequency or triggers, completion requirements, evidence and retention requirements, monitoring, reporting, review, and escalation. Align content and activities with organizational risks, incidents, policies, and emerging threats.
